Governor Davis names attorney Frederick Schenk to the Del Mar Fair board

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Governor Gray Davis has announced the appointment of Frederick Schenk — a senior partner with the law offices of Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk — as a member of the Board of Directors, 22nd District Agricultural Association (Del Mar Fair Board).
Schenk, a San Diego resident, was one of the attorneys to represent Governor Davis in the successful resolution of the State’s tobacco litigation.

An attorney with San Diego-based Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk (CGRS) since 1983, Schenk has extensive experience in products liability, personal injury, asbestos law and drug litigation. He has been recognized by San Diego Magazine as the top local plaintiffs’ personal injury attorney specializing in asbestos litigation, and was awarded the Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award by Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He served as President of the Consumers Attorneys of San Diego and was recognized as Chapter President of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys of California.
He is immediate past President of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) of San Diego, a member of the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys of California, and in 1999, became the founding chairperson of the Cardozo Society of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego. He is also a trustee of the Civil Justice Foundation.

Schenk earned a bachelor of arts degree from UCLA, and a juris doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
