DAVID S. CASEY JR. NAMED ONE OF STATE’S “TOP 100 ATTORNEYS”

SAN DIEGO — David S. Casey Jr. , a senior partner with Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield, has been named one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in California” by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, one of the legal profession’s preeminent publications.

The list is compiled each year by Daily Journal staffers to highlight the state’s most influential legal practitioners and academics. This is the third consecutive year that Casey, a native La Jollan and a third generation attorney, has been listed.

Casey has spent nearly 30 years practicing law in San Diego. Specializing in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, he has obtained successful verdicts and settlements for dozens of high profile cases. He recently finished his tenure as president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), where he gained national recognition for his work to organize a moratorium on civil lawsuits related to the events of
Sept. 11.

In addition, Casey is past president of both the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the Consumer Attorneys of California, has been inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and is a fellow of the International Academy of Barristers. He received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College and a law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. In 1974, he joined what is now Casey Gerry, which was founded by his father, David Casey Sr., more than 50 years ago.

Casey Gerry was originally established in 1947, and is the oldest plaintiffs’ law firm in San Diego. The firm’s 12 attorneys practice in numerous areas, including, personal injury, pharmaceutical drug, asbestos litigation, class action and products liability. The firm is located at 110 Laurel St. in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood of San Diego.
