April 7, 2006 Press Releases

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Gayle M. Blatt — a partner with Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield — has been named president-elect of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD), an organization of trial lawyers whose focus is to preserve and protect the legal rights of consumers.

Blatt will replace the current president, Richard Huver, in January, 2007. Casey Gerry partner Robert J. Francavilla is currently the immediate past president.

According to David Casey Jr., senior partner with the prominent plaintiff’s law firm, this marks Blatt’s 11th year as a member of the CASD board.

A two-time recipient of CASD’s “Outstanding Trial Lawyer” award, Blatt “has a breadth of experience and dedication to the profession that will serve CASD well,” Casey said. “We are honored that she will continue to represent our firm on its board.”

Blatt, who embarked on her law career at Casey Gerry more than 20 years ago, now concentrates her practice on personal injury, pharmaceutical and product liability litigation. Earning numerous multi-million dollar results for her clients, she is especially active in product liability cases, including those involving children. A frequent lecturer, she has served as a workshop leader for the San Diego Inn of Court’s College of Advocacy and as a judge in National Advocacy Competitions.

In addition, she is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Consumer Attorneys of California and the San Diego County Bar Association.

A resident of the University City, Blatt earned her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University in New York and her JD (cum laude) from California Western School of Law.

Casey Gerry was established in 1947, and is the oldest plaintiffs’ law firm in San Diego. The firm’s 11 attorneys practice in numerous areas, including personal injury, product liability and pharmaceutical litigation. The firm is located at 110 Laurel St. in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood of San Diego.
