CASEY GERRY PARTNER THOMAS PENFIELD NAMED SECRETARY OF THE NORTH COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Thomas D. Penfield — a partner with Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield, LLP, a prominent plaintiff’s law firm — has been named secretary of the North County Bar Association.

A resident of Cardiff-by-the Sea, Penfield was previously elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the North County Bar Association (NCBA), and will serve as the organization’s secretary for a one-year term.

“We are pleased that Tom will continue to represent Casey Gerry in this important organization,” said the firm’s senior partner David Casey Jr. “Our firm has always maintained a strong North County presence, and Tom’s role as NCBA secretary will ensure that we continue to do so.”

With significant experience in personal injury, products liability, class actions and civil litigation, Penfield has been an attorney with Casey Gerry since 1988.

He is a graduate of California Western School of Law (J.D. 1974) and was the recipient of the Environmental Lawyer of the Year Award from the Sierra Club’s San Diego Chapter in 1996.
Prior to joining Casey Gerry, he worked as a supervising trial lawyer with the Defenders Program of San Diego, and as a full-time clinical Professor of Law at the University of San Diego (USD) School of Law, where he still teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Law.

Since 1956, the Vista, Calif.-based North County Bar Association has been dedicated to providing its members with programs and services promoting the development of the legal profession and serving the community.

Casey Gerry, with offices in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood of San Diego and in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, is the oldest plaintiffs’ law firm in San Diego.
