Dedicated to the pursuit of justice

September 2, 2008 Press Releases

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Three Casey Gerry partners — David S. Casey Jr,  Robert J. Francavilla and Frederick Schenk — have again been selected to appear in “The Best Lawyers in America,” the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.

The attorneys will appear in the 2009 edition of this prestigious annual referral guide – to be published in the Fall of 2008 —  which includes nearly 30,000 attorneys in 78 specialties and covers all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  Lawyers were selected for inclusion based on an exhaustive peer-review process developed and refined over 25 years.

“Our firm has an enduring tradition of inclusion in this prestigious guide, and we are honored to once again be recognized based on evaluations from some of the top attorneys in the country,” said Casey, the firm’s managing partner.

The Casey Gerry partners included in the publication each have extensive expertise in all aspects of consumer law:

o Casey, a native La Jollan, is listed in “Best Lawyers” personal injury litigation section. A past president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Casey is a third generation attorney and specializes in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases — obtaining successful verdicts and settlements for dozens of well-known cases. He is past president of both the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the Consumer Attorneys of California, has been inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and is a fellow of the International Academy of Barristers.

o Carmel Valley resident Robert J. Francavilla is listed in the product liability litigation section. With a trial practice that focuses on all aspects of serious personal injury and products liability, Francavilla has attained multi-million dollar results in cases dealing with highway design, automobile accidents and product and premises liability.  He was president of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, receiving tribute from that organization with its “Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award” on four separate occasions. Francavilla is also a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

o Frederick Schenk, also a resident of Carmel Valley, is listed in the mass tort litigation category. Schenk has extensive experience in products liability, personal injury, asbestos law and drug litigation and has been recognized by “San Diego Magazine” as the top local plaintiffs’ personal injury attorney specializing in asbestos litigation. In addition, he served as president of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and of the Civil Justice Foundation, a national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing consumer injury and defending consumer access to justice.
