Verschueren will work closely with outgoing co-president George Seymour to help oversee the association, which is dedicated to the advancement of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues throughout California and beyond.
“We’re so pleased Meagan’s passion for helping others and the legal community has been realized with such a distinguished honor,” said David S. Casey, Jr. managing partner of CaseyGerry, San Diego’s oldest plaintiffs’ law firm. “We’re also very proud to be title sponsor of this important dinner and to help welcome California Supreme Court Justice Leondra R. Kruger as the keynote speaker.”
According to Verschueren, as THLA president she plans to help foster important connections for the organization as well as to grow its membership. “I plan to work with our diverse community – increasing our impact by partnering with other bar organizations working toward the same goals,” she said. “I am so honored to be leading such an important, forward-thinking organization for the next two years.”
Over the last few years, Verschueren has been heavily involved in the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association as a board member and chair of the membership committee, as well as mentoring LGBT law students.
