Einstein Healthcare Data Breach

In October of 2020, Einstein Healthcare Network started contacting patients information them of a data breach that occurred between August 5 and August 17, 2020.

The company noticed that several employee emails had been accessed by an unauthorized user. The notice informed patients that the information accessed may have included, name, date of birth, Social Security number, medical record or patient account number, health insurance information, and/or treatment or clinical information, such as diagnosis, medications, provider, type of treatment, or treatment location.

Einstein Healthcare Network initially estimated that only 1820 individuals were impacted. However, the media recently reported that over 350,000 people have been affected by the breach.
