Florida Heart Associates Data Breach

CaseyGerry is investigating a data security incident reported by Florida Heart Associates (FHA), a health care service provider specializing in cardiac diseases.

According to the notice of breach on the company website, FHA became aware of unusual activity on the company network. Their investigation revealed that an unauthorized party gained access to company servers between May 9 and May 19, 2021. The breach was discovered on May 19, 2021.

An article by the HIPPA Journal reported that the breach may have impacted 45,000 past and current FHA patients. The compromised data includes personal and protected health information including:

• Names
• Date of birth
• Social Security number
• Member identification number
• Health insurance information
