Asbestos Damages Awarded to Mall

Cerritos v. United States Mineral Products

After suffering property damage from asbestos released in fireproofing materials, Los Cerritos Shopping Center – represented by CaseyGerry attorney Thomas D. Penfield – was awarded $14.15 million by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury that found United States Mineral Products responsible for the removal  of the cancer-causing materials. Jury concluded that United States Mineral Products, manufacturer of the asbestos containing fireproofing, should help defray clean-up costs.

Verdict: $14.5 million
