Samantha Kaplan

Associate Attorney

Samantha is an associate attorney at CaseyGerry where she works with the Personal Injury team. She also works closely with Partner Jeremy K. Robinson in CaseyGerry’s Motion and Appellate Practice and on various Class Action cases.

Prior to joining CaseyGerry, Samantha worked as a law clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Berg at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. During law school, Samantha worked as a law clerk with the U.S. State Department Office of the Assistant Legal Advisor where she became involved with the U.S. submissions to the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal and other Investor State Dispute Settlements and Bilateral Investment issues. Samantha also clerked for EarthRights International, a global organization dedicated to protecting people’s rights, and the Torture Abolition Survivor Support Coalition, helping survivors of torture apply for asylum. In addition, she provided Pro Bono services along with a team of attorneys and other students for Georgetown Law’s chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project, working to complete UN submissions on behalf of transgender youth from the Middle East.

Samantha received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development and Africana Studies from Tulane University. She is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Samantha is committed to the legal community and regularly attends events and seminars hosted by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD) and the American Association of Justice (AAJ).

A native San Diegan, Samantha relishes the outdoors, especially hiking along various sections of the Pacific Crest Trial in her free time. She also enjoys yoga and is a certified yoga teacher, receiving her 200-hour Yoga Alliance RYT training in India. Most of all, she loves to cook and spend time with her husband and two dogs.

Samantha is fluent in French and Spanish.
