Frederick Schenk to Serve on Board for AAJ’s Grantmaking Foundation

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Frederick Schenk – a longtime partner with CaseyGerry, San Diego’s oldest plaintiff’s law firm – has been appointed to serve on the American Association for Justice’s (AAJ) Robert L. Habush Endowment Board of Directors.

Schenk will serve a three-year term on the Endowment Board, a foundation which provides grants to AAJ – the world’s largest trial bar – as well as to its associated foundations and others, such as law schools, academics and think tanks. Currently a member of the AAJ Board of Governors, Schenk is the only San Diego attorney serving on the Endowment Board.

The core mission of the AAJ’s Robert L. Habush Endowment is to preserve and protect the civil justice system and individual rights through public education and research.

An attorney with CaseyGerry since 1983, Schenk has extensive experience in products liability, personal injury, asbestos law and auto litigation. Recently selected by his peers as a San Diego “Lawyer of the Year” for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, a prestigious national ranking of attorneys selected through peer-review, he has been recognized by San Diego Magazine as the top local plaintiffs’ personal injury attorney specializing in asbestos litigation, is listed in Super Lawyers magazine, and was awarded the “Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award” by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.

Schenk is also past-president of the Civil Justice Foundation, a Washington D.C.-based non-profit organization dedicated to preventing consumer injury and defending consumer access to justice; past-president of The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center and a founding co-chair of the Cardozo Society of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego. In addition, he currently serves as vice president of the board of directors of the 22nd District Agricultural Association (Del Mar Fairboard).

A resident of San Diego’s Carmel Valley neighborhood, Schenk earned his law degree from the University of San Diego and his bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
