Infinity Insurance Data Breach

Auto insurance company, Infinity Insurance has reported a data breach that may have compromised the sensitive data of individuals.

The company discovered the security incident involving applications for auto insurance quotes. An unauthorized party submitted applications to get insurance quotes using information obtained elsewhere. Insurance quotes include sensitive data including driver’s license numbers.

According to the Notice of Data Breach sent to those potentially impacted, the incident occurred between January 7 and April 4, 2021.

This is the second Infinity Insurance breach notice in 2021. The article, Kemper, Infinity Insurance Companies Data Breach Class Action, by the Class Actions Reporter reported that In March 2021, the company notified affected individuals of a breach that occurred in December 2020. The company reported that an unauthorized party gained access to their network, compromising sensitive information including names, addresses and Social Security numbers.
