Secure Administrative Solutions LLC Data Breach Impacts Insurance providers

CaseyGerry is investigating a data breach reported by Renaissance Life & Health Insurance Company of America. Renaissance reported that the security incident was experienced by their third-party vendor, Secure Administrative Solutions LLC (SAS) who alerted them to it on June 1, 2021. Secure Administrative Solutions LLC (SAS) provides insurance administrative services for insurance providers.

According to the article, Cyberattack Hits Health Payer Third-Party Vendor, Exposes PHI by Health IT Security, an unauthorized party gained access to the SAS’ systems between March 15 and April 15 2021 and pulled clients’ protected health information.

The compromised information may have included identifying information such as names, addresses and dates of birth; and health related information such as health insurance policy numbers, and other pertinent information.
