AllyAlign Data Breach

February 27, 2021 Data Breaches

CaseyGerry is investigating a data breach reported by AllyAlign Health, Inc, a medical plan administrator, which has compromised patients’ highly sensitive information.

The company provides management services in Medicare management, special needs plans, and more to approximately 45000 individuals in more than 20 states.

In a notice sent to patients affected, AllyAlign Health Inc. reported that an unauthorized third-party had gained access to their computer network, and planted ransomware. The company became aware of the cyberattack on November 14, 2020. This, however, does not mean that the attack had not occurred sooner.

Perhaps by design, or lack of information, the notification sent out by AllyAlign Health provides very little information about the cyberattack, or how many patients’ data may have been compromised. The breach exposed highly sensitive personal, and health-related information including: Name, Date of birth, Social security number, Mailing address, Medicare health insurance claim number and Medicare beneficiary identifier, Medical recipient identification number, medical claims history, health insurance policy number, and more.

If you have been affected by AllyAlign data breach and have received notification from the company, please contact our attorneys at (619) 238-1811 to discuss your case.

The CaseyGerry law firm successfully represents individuals against corporations who have failed to take adequate measures to protect clients’ sensitive data, exposing them to identity theft, fraud and more.
